As part of an ongoing project, the Festival collaborates each year with efforts to preserve the cultural patrimony of the Historic Downtown area of Mexico City, allocating resources for the restoration of artistically valuable objects. Since 1990, 31 paintings, sculptural and architectural works from different eras have been restored, now gracing churches, museums and other cultural spaces.
