Charles Gayle, great sax player and one of the leading performers of modern free jazz, was discovered playing in the streets of New York. He gained fame since his first recordings for the Swedish record label Silkheart Records in 1998. Since then, he has recorded about 30 albums and has collaborated with great musicians, such as Cecil Taylor, William Parker, Rashid Ali and Chad Taylor, among others.
