Sound installation nicknamed by its creators—Jerónimo García Naranjo and José Isabel Cruz Orozco—“great string”, in the Nahuatl tongue. It is a harp of large proportions made of ten ship containers setup in a two-story-high pentagon. The containers act as a resonance box and the sound is produced by way of long strings, over 65ft long, played with huge bows, percussion and pulsation. The audience may travel in the central area of the pentagon and become surrounded by the sound of the pieces composed for this instrument by García Naranjo and Cruz Orozco themselves, as well as by other guest musicians.
